For some time, Icom’s senior management team has been looking and evaluating targeted companies in our sector, with the correct ethos and culture to partner with.  This has been done in order to both strengthen the company and ensure long term stability and continued success.

The company has taken a great deal care and diligence with this sensitive and at times challenging process, which has taken some time to complete. We are now in the position to update you on the outcome.

John Donoghue, Managing Director, Icom:

“I am pleased to announce that Icom Holdings Ltd and subsidiary companies (Icom) have formally merged with BDR Voice and Data Solutions Ltd (BDR), a Midlands based IT and Communications business.

“Icom will continue to operate as a separate group of companies. However, Icom and BDR will pool resources to expand our products and services; simplify our procurement and improve efficiency by centralising and/or standardising company functions.

“The merger will add mobile solutions, managed Wi-Fi, IT solutions and network services to the services it is able to offer clients. We will benefit from an in-house billing system and further developed CRM system which will improve levels of customer service. We also plan to integrate our two Hosted VoIP systems to offer more choice to customers and a greater geographic spread of our data centres.

“This merger is all about future proofing the business and will ensure that Icom will continue beyond the workings lives of the current management team – although there are no plans for retirement just yet. We welcome Bahman Rahimi (BDR CEO) onto the board of Icom Holdings Ltd and look forward to working and learning together. All existing directors across the Icom Group remain in place.

“Our combined companies will have greater financial stability, a wider range of products and services; and improved buying power.  We will gain from efficiencies that come with our increased size, all of which will benefit our customers. Icom continues to grow and will proceed with plans made prior to the merger with BDR, to increase our staff size in 2018. Watch this space.”
