The client and their brief – From telecommunications to security systems

P&O Ferries is a British-based company that operates ferries from the United Kingdom to Ireland and Continental Europe. Icom has been working with P&O Ferries since 2005. The company reached out to Icom to supply them with telephony and networking solutions as well as new security systems.

The Icom Approach

Thanks to our expertise and professionalism, we have been able to expand our services, providing them with services such as:

• Maintaining the wireless infrastructure installed in their warehouse in Dover,
• Reactive service and maintenance of their entire Cat-5e and fibre optic infrastructure.

The contract includes 17 sites across Northern Europe, including Dover, Calais, Ireland and Bilbao. The sites are designated as either primary or secondary, with specific response times associated.

Icom also provides them with security systems consisting of static, pan, tilt and zoom cameras across seven different sites. Being very sensitive areas, Icom has had to adapt and comply with all the security and health and safety requirements of the company.
