The client and their brief – Providing cost-effective telephony services

Clive Barford Limited (CBL) is the leading provider of compact equipment hire and sales across southern Britain. The company has ten warehouses located across the South and employ over 145 people. With a business of this scale, CBL needed a reliable and responsive network and telephony services supplier.

The Icom Approach

Our Senior Business Consultant, Charles Lawrence, was in charge of this project. He impressed CBL with his skills, knowledge and professionalism. He handled their initial requirements with great care, providing support and answering all their questions. This led CBL to choose Icom as their main telecommunications provider, including hardware and network services.

Icom designed and installed a new telephony package across all their sites, providing them with a single, unified system. Thanks to the Nortel BCM digital telephone system, CBL now also has a universal switch installed in every location. Some locations also now benefit from a VoIP system.

The Results

Since using Icom for its network services provision, CBL has reduced its line rental and telephony costs by approximately 30%. Installing ISDN lines and introducing VoIP into the organisation has allowed CBL to operate much more efficiently when it comes to call traffic.

As the working relationship between Icom and CBL continues to grow, we are always looking at other ways to assist them in reducing their costs by using the latest telephony technology.
